FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
This page is here after a suggestion from Natalie from Wembley Eclipse Majorettes, and we shall add more questions to this page as they become more frequent.
How old do you have to be to start with our troupe?
Well we would suggest that around five years old is probably the youngest age, and then any age as long as you keep enjoying the sport.
Do you need to buy anything to start baton twirling?
When you first start you will not know if you like it or not, so during the first three or four weeks we provide all the equipment for you to use. If you then decide to carry on you can buy your first baton and correct footwear.
Are parents allowed to watch?
There is always something daunting about taking part in an activity with people you don't know, and it can be reassuring to see your parent sitting at the side of the hall, especially if you are very young. It can be reassuring for the parents as well. After a short time however, we have found that members have settled in and are then distracted if their parents remain. They will often tell them to leave themselves.
